Bruyen & Macquart — Petite Dame Noire 2022

Petite Dame Noire 2022

Bruyen & Macquart | Brut | Vintage 2022

Bruyen & Macquart – Petite Dame Noire. A bottle that appears rather understated visually, but stylistically shows immediately that two families have developed a shared signature here.

I know Bruyen by now. The "Macquart" line is sort of the little sister: somewhat more independent, a bit spicier, a little less polished, but with character as a result.

Bold, dark Meunier vibe, almost peppery-spicy, very citrusy and with a structure that immediately demands attention. No strong fruit – rather herbs, zest, a touch of salty minerality and grip.

A perfect choice in the Fatto a Mano Black Tie. The glass brings out the spice more clearly, makes the citrus notes tighter and gives the whole structure room to breathe without it becoming broad.

Particularly fascinating is how much the style here deviates from "classic Bruyen" and yet still feels familiar. As if you'd been told the same story, but from a different perspective.

Tasting Notes

Bold, dark Meunier character with peppery-spicy notes, very citrusy and structured. No strong fruit, but rather herbs, zest and salty minerality with noticeable grip.
