Daniel Leclerc — Rosé de Saignée

Rosé de Saignée

Daniel Leclerc | Rosé

After the Cuvée Gabin, the next step was clear: comparison with the Rosé de Saignée. Same vintage, same winemaker – but a completely different experience.

Instead of 100% Chardonnay, now 100% Pinot Noir from the Côte des Bar, made using the Saignée method with 18 hours of skin contact. The result? More intense, fruitier, livelier.

Tasting notes:

Nose: Expressive, with fresh red fruits – strawberries, raspberries, a hint of blackcurrant. Palate: Lively, juicy, with a fine balance of freshness and structure. The darker fruit aromas only show themselves on the finish. Finish: Long, with persistent fruitiness and fine spice.

The glass makes the difference:

This time I tried it from a bulbous Pinot Noir glass – and it was noticeable how the mouthfeel changed. More space for aroma development, but at the same time slightly less finesse in the perlage. Fascinating comparison!

Tasting Notes

An expressive rosé with fresh red fruits like strawberries and raspberries on the nose. Lively and juicy on the palate with fine balance, long on the finish with persistent fruitiness and fine spice.
