G. Tribaut — Millésime 2018

Millésime 2018

G. Tribaut | Millésimé | Vintage 2018

A champagne for "comfort food" at the highest level. It pairs beautifully with crispy grilled chicken breast (with the skin on, of course!), homemade spätzle, and green beans. An honest, down-to-earth dish that calls for a partner bringing both structure and richness.

2018 was an exceptional vintage with lots of sunshine, and you can immediately taste it in this wine from Hautvillers. It's a powerful assemblage of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that developed wonderful ripeness and fullness from the warmth of the year.

On the nose, ripe yellow fruits dominate along with the typical toasty notes of brioche, which harmonize perfectly with grilled poultry. On the palate, it shows wonderful richness and a fine nutty spice that beautifully accompanies spätzle and light sauces. Despite its power, it maintains the elegance that Tribaut is known for.

A pairing that proves: champagne is the ultimate food companion, even (or especially) when things get a bit more rustic.

Tasting Notes

On the nose ripe yellow fruits and brioche toasty notes, on the palate wonderful richness with fine nutty spice. Despite its power, it maintains elegance and is excellently suited as a food companion.
