The prize
One prize, one winner. No consolation prizes here :)
The methuselah
Six litres is eight ordinary bottles in one piece of glass. Brut Eulalie is the cuvée that introduced me to this house: first in 75 cl, then in Jeroboam. The Methuselah is where that story goes next, and it is the only cuvée in the range available in this format.
More about the champagne
The house farms the Domaine Sainte-Eulalie at Bligny, in the far south of Champagne: 28 hectares in a single block, on Kimmeridgian marl.
The Sainte-Eulalie is a monopole: it belongs to the house alone, lies in a single unbroken block, which almost never happens in Champagne, and the cuvée carries its name. The label says where the wine comes from: the estate’s oldest high-altitude vines, pinot noir dominant.

The methuselah is the largest format this house fills at all.
The glasses
18 Gabriel-Glas glasses. The Gabriel-Glas was in fact the first proper glass I ever used. For more than 10 years they have been on my table at countless tastings. One glass for everything, and therefore exactly what you need when 18 people share one bottle.
More about the glasses
One glass for everything: that is the whole idea. The slightly conical shape, curved on the inside, speeds up aromatic development through the so-called Bouquet-Drive at the bowl, then gathers it again at the rim.
I have had this glass in the StandArt and the Gold Edition for over 10 years, and it is on the table at hundreds of tastings every year.

18 glasses means a large table, and nobody drinking from a flute.

The book
Breathless Without You by Olive Wilson is out this week. With it comes an exclusive Special Box: reading journal, character card, bookmark, sticky notes, marker and stickers, book pouch, acrylic figure, golf ball and Aunt Meera’s garam masala. Even if the book sits geographically closer to English Sparkling, there are culinary hooks in it that go beautifully with champagne. So if you are the lucky winner, you can treat 17 friends to champagne and a fine masala! In the shop the box costs €69.80.
More about the Special Box
The box exists only in the author’s own shop, in a strictly limited run. It holds the book and everything that belongs to the story.
Two things in it look odd at first: a golf ball bearing the book’s title and Aunt Meera’s garam masala, named after a character. Both make sense once you have read the novel.

Breathless Without You
This giveaway opens in the week Olive Wilson published her debut novel: out on 19 October.
It is a novel set on a palliative care ward: Jamie-Lee Patel, thirty-five, and her doctor. Not a light book, and that is exactly why it is part of this giveaway. Champagne is not only for occasions such as a book coming out, but for celebrating life. And that is what the book is about too.
There is nothing to buy. Entry is free and tied to no purchase, not the book, not anything else. ⚠️ The novel is in German.

The partners
Champagne Edouard Duval
Domaine Sainte-Eulalie, Bligny, Côte des Bar. A family estate in the south of Champagne. Its cuvées come solely from the “Sainte-Eulalie” monopole: 28 hectares in one unbroken block, a rarity in Champagne. Brut Eulalie is a pinot-noir-led blend from the estate’s oldest high-altitude vines.

Gabriel-Glas
One glass for everything: that is the whole idea, and it works. The thin-walled tulip shape serves champagne as well as it serves burgundy or riesling; the inward-curving rim gathers the aromas without smothering the bead. I have worked with them for years and have cut my glass cupboard from eight types down to essentially one. 18 glasses means enough for a full table, and nobody has to drink from a flute.
