Le Bateau - Cramant 2016

Bonnaire-Clouet | Blanc de Blancs | Vintage 2016

With the Bonnaire-Clouet Le Bateau Cramant 2016, we're taking a little journey through time – or rather: a voyage into the past. The lieu-dit "Le Bateau" in Cramant tells the story of a time when a primordial sea lay here. About 90 million years ago, this was all underwater – and you can feel exactly this maritime history in the glass.

100% Chardonnay from a single parcel – aged on the lees for at least 60 months and with an Extra-Brut dosage of only 1.5 g/l. This creates an incredibly precise, salty-fresh Blanc de Blancs with crisp minerality and fine creaminess.

It pairs perfectly with mussels in tomato sauce – the iodine freshness of the champagne picks up on that beautifully while also complementing the fruit of the tomatoes. Food pairing on point!

Key Facts: Grand Cru from Cramant. At least 60 months on the lees. Disgorged in May 2023.

With its maritime label, clear signature, and this vibrant saltiness, this is a true terroir ambassador from the Côte des Blancs.

Tasting Notes
