Brut 2017
Champagne Thiénot | Extra Brut | Vintage 2017
Brut in the glass – clear, precise, beautifully dry. Paired with a quick chocolate mousse as accompaniment.
But: unfortunately they didn't quite come together. The mousse too sweet, the champagne too taut – there was more contrast than harmony.
But hey – sometimes even a pairing fail is enjoyable. Because it shows how much a good champagne can do – and where its limits are.
Quick rundown on the champagne: Grape varieties: 45% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, 15% Meunier Base year: 2017 Reserve wines: 45% Dosage: 4 g/l (Extra Brut character) Origin: Reims, family-run house since 1985 Style: Citrus, apple, fine brioche, very clear and fresh
Tasting Notes
