Maison Burtin: Henri de Verlaine Brut

Henri de Verlaine Brut

Maison Burtin | Brut

Once again, a champagne from the "You can drink it, but you don't necessarily need to buy it again" category. The Henri de Verlaine Brut proved to be a solid companion, fresh, fruity, pleasant perlage, but nothing that really impressed me in a lasting way. I'm pretty sure this is a private label, meaning a champagne that's produced specifically for certain retailers (here for ). That often means little to no information about the exact origin, the philosophy behind it, or the grapes used. And that's exactly what makes it a bit difficult for me to really warm up to bottles like this. But: It wasn't bad! And maybe it makes sense to look directly at the producer Maison Burtin to see what else they have. Because behind private labels there are often houses that have really exciting champagnes in their portfolio. Do you know other interesting bottles from Maison Burtin or do you maybe even have a recommendation? I'm curious!
