Météyer — Nuits Blanches 2019

Nuits Blanches 2019

Météyer | Blanc de Blancs | Vintage 2019

Of all the cuvées in Météyer's portfolio, the Nuits Blanches 2019 captivates me the most.

Blanc de Blancs stands for elegance – that's well known. But this wine plays in a league of its own. It brings not only the expected freshness and razor-sharp acidity, but a depth that isn't necessarily typical for Chardonnay. It's not a cool austerity, but a complex, vibrant energy that fills the entire palate.

The grapes come from the limestone plots around Trélou-sur-Marne in the Vallée de la Marne. 2019 was a sunny year that gave the Chardonnay incredible substance without masking the typical chalky minerality. In the glass it shows almost creamy, with notes of citrus zest, white flowers and a hint of brioche that linger forever in the saline finish.

Anyone who thinks they know Météyer's style should try this Blanc de Blancs. It's the perfect example of how Chardonnay in Meunier country can reach absolute peak form.

Tasting Notes
