Le Bateau - Cramant 2016

Bonnaire-Clouet | Blanc de Blancs | Vintage 2016

With the Bonnaire-Clouet Le Bateau Cramant 2016, we're taking a little journey through time, or rather: a voyage into the past. The lieu-dit "Le Bateau" in Cramant tells the story of a time when a primordial sea lay here. About 90 million years ago, this was all underwater, and you can feel exactly this maritime history in the glass.

100% Chardonnay from a single parcel, aged on the lees for at least 60 months and with an Extra-Brut dosage of only 1.5 g/l. This creates an incredibly precise, salty-fresh Blanc de Blancs with crisp minerality and fine creaminess.

It pairs perfectly with mussels in tomato sauce, the iodine freshness of the champagne picks up on that beautifully while also complementing the fruit of the tomatoes. Food pairing on point!

Key Facts: Grand Cru from Cramant. At least 60 months on the lees. Disgorged in May 2023.

With its maritime label, clear signature, and this vibrant saltiness, this is a true terroir ambassador from the Côte des Blancs.
