Champagne Bruyen — Lieu Dit Le Verre de Vin 2019

Lieu Dit Le Verre de Vin 2019

Champagne Bruyen | Brut Nature | Vintage 2019

An absolute Meunier monument in the glass. This single vineyard champagne consists of 100% Pinot Meunier – and the vines were planted way back in 1940! Over 80-year-old vines from the Vallée de la Marne.

The vinification is just as uncompromising as the age of the vines: No malolactic fermentation (0%), 9 months aging in oak barrels, then 5 years on the lees. Bottled as Brut Nature (Zero Dosage), it shows itself extremely purist, but with enormous depth.

On the nose, you get these fine wood notes right away, paired with floral hints. On the palate, thanks to the suppressed malo, it's incredibly fresh and lively with elegant citrus notes creating incredible tension. A Meunier that has an almost magical concentration through the old vines.
