Champagne Mathelin — Perle de Chardonnay Millésime 2016

Perle de Chardonnay Millésime 2016

Champagne Mathelin | Brut Nature | Vintage 2016

A few words about the "Perle de Chardonnay" – Millésime 2016 from Mathelin.

Without looking at the label beforehand, the moment was exciting, because I never would have guessed this was Brut Nature. I would have thought more of a tight Brut – or a softer Extra Brut.

The wine seems amazingly round, calm and balanced. No aggressive edge, no austere zero-dosage character. Instead, depth, maturity and an elegant structure.

Tasting Notes

Amazingly round, calm and balanced despite being Brut Nature – no aggressive edge, but rather depth, maturity and composure. The acidity is present, but doesn't push itself forward.
