The Blanc de Blancs from is a special bottle for me. Péhu Guiardel & Fils was one of the first growers I received a package from directly from Champagne, right at the beginning of my journey. No fair, no distributor, no detours – just a case. The Blanc de Blancs comes from Les Riceys, 100% Chardonnay, straightforward, with floral freshness and a vibrant, clean structure. In the glass it appears open and friendly. Maybe we just remember bottles like these better because they're connected to a feeling or a special moment. Just as multi-layered as the tacos was the wine – powerful, fresh, with strong structure.
By the way, Péhu Guiardel & Fils was one of the first growers to send me bottles early in the year – simply because they found my project inspiring.
From that crazy idea to start "The Champagne Guy," something real has grown by now. And bottles exactly like this remind me where it all began.
