Henri Dubois: Brut

Henri Dubois: Brut

The Cuvée

Henri Dubois isn't a grower house, but rather a private label from Groupe Rapeneau, sold as a budget store brand, here as a clearance item for €9.99. No winery, no heritage story, no terroir. And honestly: the first champagne I didn't finish. A bottle that shows why reaching for a real grower champagne in the same price range is almost always the better choice.

My Tastings

I want to try every champagne, whether it's a prestige cuvée or a €9.99 supermarket find. The Henri Dubois Brut was the cheapest bottle in the clearance section.

A pure white-label product: There's barely any info online about a winery or real story behind Henri Dubois, the brand is backed by Groupe Rapeneau. So it's a classic private-label champagne that exists primarily for retail distribution.

Unfortunately disappointing flavor-wise: It's the first champagne I didn't finish. Even my beloved Gabriel glass couldn't save this one. A bottle that shows why reaching for a real grower champagne almost always pays off, even in the same price range.
