J.B Héry: Signature Blanc de Blancs

J.B Héry: Signature Blanc de Blancs

The Cuvée

Champagne J.B Héry is based in Châlons-en-Champagne. The Signature is a Blanc de Blancs that showcases the fine, mineral side of Chardonnay, kept dry and precise.

In the glass, the wine shows fine minerality and freshness, a delicate creaminess and an elegant structure that carries citrus and brioche notes. An ideal companion for bread and cheese: with lukewarm sourdough bread and salted butter, for example, the buttery saltiness enhances its freshness and brings out the fine aromas perfectly.

My Tastings

Homemade sourdough bread and champagne, an underrated combination. The J.B Héry Signature Blanc de Blancs proves to be an ideal partner. The fine minerality and freshness complement the light acidity of the sourdough perfectly, the delicate creaminess harmonizes with the crusty crumb, and the elegant structure highlights the roasted aromas of the crust.

The highlight of the tasting plate: lukewarm sourdough bread with salted butter, a simple but perfect combination. The buttery saltiness enhances the champagne's freshness and brings out its fine citrus and brioche notes perfectly. Complemented with various cheeses and some fruit and vegetables, but the butter-bread combo remains unbeaten.

From the very first sip, you can tell that champagne can do more than just serve as an aperitif. The combination with simple, honest food shows how versatile it really is.
