Millésime 2015 Grand Cru 2015

Jacques Busin | Millésimé | Vintage 2015

The Jacques Busin Millésime 2015 Grand Cru is a powerful champagne from Verzenay that proves particularly fascinating when compared across different glasses.

The 2015 vintage was a very warm, sunny year in Champagne, and you can immediately tell with this Grand Cru. In the expansive Riedel Wine Wings glass, the impressive breadth and almost wine-like, Burgundian richness are extremely prominent. In the Gabriel glass, the champagne appears more focused and "tidier." The warm notes of ripe peach, juicy apricot, and that wonderful, warm brioche aroma are immediately present. But the citrus freshness and chalky tension on the palate are captured somewhat more precisely in the Gabriel glass.

A fantastic demonstration of how much the glass shapes and directs a wine's character.

Either way, the Jacques Busin Millésime 2015 remains an absolute powerhouse from the Montagne de Reims that benefits from air and space.

Tasting Notes
