Perseval-Farge — Cuvée Jean-Baptiste 2012

Cuvée Jean-Baptiste 2012

Perseval-Farge | Millésimé | Vintage 2012

There are winemakers who work behind the scenes – quietly, precisely, without big marketing. And champagne has this beautiful quality of not needing a stage, but being the stage itself.

The Cuvée Jean-Baptiste from Perseval-Farge is one of those bottles you don't drink by accident. Chamery, Premier Cru, fifth generation – everything built on craftsmanship and identity. And you feel exactly that in this cuvée right away.

In the glass it starts robust, bright and serious: fine herbs, some citrus peel, a hint of stone fruit, everything subtly held in the background – as if it wants to open slowly.

On the palate then denser, more complex, more structured than expected: cool clarity from the Chardonnay, red depth from the Pinot Noir and these tiny nuances from the rare grape varieties Arbane, Petit Meslier and Pinot Gris.

This does something to the texture. It almost feels like a blend of precision and smoky warmth.

Tasting Notes

Robust, bright start with fine herbs, citrus peel and subtle stone fruit nuances. Dense and complex on the palate with cool Chardonnay clarity, red Pinot Noir depth and a blend of precision and smoky warmth.
