Veuve Olivier et Fils: Secret Boisé 2015

Secret Boisé 2015

Veuve Olivier et Fils | Brut | Vintage 2015

Leftover meatballs become spontaneous burgers, Mediterranean meatballs, a slice of cheddar, red onion, jalapeños, tomato, some chili burger sauce and a dollop of sour cream. Wild combination, but it worked surprisingly well.

Paired with the Secret Boisé from Veuve Olivier et Fils.

I hadn't looked into the specifications of this bottle beforehand, and they're not that easy to find online anyway, so I was all the more surprised by how perfectly it matched: powerful, complex and at the same time fresh enough to balance the spiciness of the burger.

Tasting Notes

Powerful and complex with sufficient freshness to balance spicy dishes. 100% Chardonnay from old vines, aged 12 months in oak barrels with 6 years on lees.
