Dom Pérignon: Vintage 2015

Dom Pérignon: Vintage 2015

The Cuvée

Dom Pérignon is the Prestige Cuvée of Moët & Chandon and one of the most famous names in all of Champagne. The wine appears exclusively as a vintage champagne, bottled only in years that the house deems worthy, and ages on the lees for around eight years before release. The assemblage of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir seeks anew in each vintage that balance which creates the unmistakable style.

The Vintage 2015 comes from a warm, generous year, but shows itself in the glass as anything but broad. Deep and saline, with aromas of mandarin, grapefruit, a touch of smoke, white pepper, and chalk. A champagne with energy and seriousness that plays out its maturity in a long, mineral finish.

My Tastings

The sun still hangs low, the kids bounce through the house, hunting Easter eggs. And presents too, because on top of everything my wife has her birthday.

Two highlights in one day, and both begin before the first toast.

The Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 accompanies the festive breakfast, a champagne that does justice to both the occasion and the food. A deep, saline champagne with aromas of mandarin, grapefruit, smoke, white pepper, and chalk that shows energy and seriousness and resonates with a long finish.
