Emmanuel Brochet — Rosé L'Assemblage 2000

Rosé L'Assemblage 2000

Emmanuel Brochet | Rosé | Vintage 2000

One glass – and immediately a memory comes to mind: strawberry cake. Sweetly playful, yet elegant and complex.

On the nose: red berries, rosehip, dried herbs. On the palate: precise fruit, gentle tannins, fine spice – and a quiet, clear structure.

needs no introduction. Or does he?

For years he's been vinifying the wines of Le Mont Benoît with quiet precision – as a true one-man operation. Labels with dégorgement dates? Not here – because he even handles the labeling personally. Son Sascha is now on board – but you can feel that nothing is being rushed here.

The Rosé? A blend of Pinot Meunier from friendly winegrowers and red wine from the top of Le Mont Benoît (planted 2000). Not saignée, but classically assembled – and that was an excellent decision.

Enjoyed today without pairing – because I didn't want to steal the show from this bottle. Instead at the Fatto a Mano – Black Tie – an ideal setting.
