Haton & Filles: Carte Blanche

Haton & Filles: Carte Blanche

The Cuvée

Haton & Filles is a grower house from the Vallée de la Marne, and the Carte Blanche shows what the region does best: pure Meunier. A single-varietal champagne made from one hundred percent Pinot Meunier that showcases the fruit-forward, approachable side of this often underestimated grape variety.

Compared to the Cadence, which brings more freshness into play with Chardonnay, the Carte Blanche feels rounder and fuller: lots of fruit, lively acidity, and yet pleasant breadth on the palate. An uncomplicated, charming champagne that celebrates the grape variety instead of hiding it.

My Tastings

After the Cadence Brut a few days ago, today something new again from Haton & Filles: the Carte Blanche.

This time 100% Pinot Meunier, and that's exactly what makes the difference. While the Cadence brings the freshness of Chardonnay into play, the Carte Blanche feels rounder, with lots of fruit, lively acidity, and yet pleasant fullness.
