Jacques Busin — Tradition Demi Sec

Tradition Demi Sec

Jacques Busin | Brut

The second and sweet part of the two-part crepe experiment – classic: with chocolate cream and powdered sugar.

In the glass alongside it, the – Tradition Demi Sec, served slightly cooler in the somewhat narrower Champagne Performance glass from . Through its high dosage it feels round and soft and paired perfectly with the sweet chocolate – a harmonious, dessert-like pairing.

The champagne alone is almost like a dessert. It gets interesting when combined with an even sweeter dessert: the champagne's sweetness recedes into the background, its freshness comes more to the fore, while the nutty note from the dessert is picked up. Together they create a lovely note of toast, almost roasted in character, with a hint of caramel and a wonderful complement to the missing fruit note, since unfortunately I didn't have any fresh fruit on hand.

Tasting Notes

Round, soft champagne with high dosage that almost feels like a dessert. Shows notes of toast, roasted aromas and a hint of caramel.
