Louis Casters: Millésime 2015 Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs

Millésime 2015 Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs 2015

Louis Casters | Blanc de Blancs | Vintage 2015

The Louis Casters Millésime 2015 Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs is a brand that you wouldn't place among the biggest names, but not among the small growers either.

With around 300,000 bottles per year, Louis Casters is a classic family operation from Damery that also gets their champagnes into retail stores, so some interesting bottles suddenly appear unexpectedly on the shelf.

The 2015 Grand Cru is pleasant to drink and solidly made. I find the decision against malolactic fermentation interesting, as it brings freshness and liveliness to the glass. At the same time, the vintage comes across as rather soft and less citrusy than many other champagnes.

Tasting Notes

Pleasant to drink and solidly made. Fresh and lively thanks to skipping malolactic fermentation, while being rather soft and less citrusy.
