Domaine Doussot Bourdot: Les Moulins 2024

The Cuvée

Domaine Doussot Bourdot is located in Loches-sur-Ource, deep in the Côte des Bar in the southern Champagne region, in the Aube département. Les Moulins is a pure Blanc de Blancs, aged in oak barrels, and shows that clear, linear Chardonnay style for which the region is increasingly becoming known.

Visually refined right away: pale, clear, with delicate bubbles. On the nose initially restrained and quiet, then much more on the palate: fresh yellow fruits, a hint of mirabelle plum, something herbal, and that typical taut Côte des Bar structure. A champagne that focuses on line and texture rather than rich aromas: taut, mineral, very precise.

My Tastings

Sometimes you open a bottle and it immediately has its own character. With Les Moulins it was clear: this is going to be a special evening.

Visually already beautiful: pale, clear, fine bubbles, but most exciting was this mixture of calm and power in the glass.

On the nose at first restrained, almost clean and quiet. On the palate then much more: fresh yellow fruits, a hint of mirabelle plum, something herbal, plus that typical clear Côte des Bar structure, which was nicely present here.

A champagne that plays more on line and texture than on rich aromas. Taut, mineral, very precise, and exactly the style that immediately appeals to me when I want to unwind in the evening.
