Moutard: Brut Nature

Moutard: Brut Nature

Brut Nature

Moutard | Brut Nature

It's fresh, clear, precise, and as a Brut Nature without Dosage, it brings a wonderful directness to the glass. However, it doesn't quite reach the level of the Cuvées from the major houses. That doesn't mean Moutard should be written off, quite the contrary! This estate has impressive vintages and special Cuvées in their lineup that definitely have the potential to surprise.

Judging a house like Moutard based solely on their entry-level Cuvée would be unfair. The vintages and more complex Cuvées promise real discoveries.

Generally speaking: entry-level champagnes from major houses are solid companions, but often spark curiosity about what the next quality level has to offer. Grower champagnes fascinate through complexity and uniqueness, and prestige champagnes manage to turn every moment into something grand.

Tasting Notes

Fresh, clear and precise champagne that brings wonderful directness to the glass without Dosage. Solid quality, but doesn't quite reach the level of entry-level Cuvées from the major houses.
