Nicolas Maillart — Montchenot 2019

Montchenot 2019

Nicolas Maillart | Blanc de Noirs | Vintage 2019

Sometimes you just have one of those evenings: No desire to cook, low energy – so you turn to delivery.

Pizza Diavolo – spicy, greasy, and honestly not much to look at. ️

Usually I care about aesthetics and setting. Dough, ingredients, appearance and taste – I could have done better myself in my pizza oven – but sometimes this works too.

Still opened a really good bottle with it though...

– Montchenot 2019

A Blanc de Noirs with depth: Powerful on the palate, with dark fruit, fine spice and a cool, chalky minerality. It easily deserved a more serious dish – but handled the pizza effortlessly. Stylish, confident, completely without attitude.

100% Pinot Noir Clay-limestone soil on chalk, selectively harvested Vinified in wood, without fining or filtration ️ Extra Brut – 1 g/l Dosage Dégorgement: 04/2025 Macération à froid, no malolactic fermentation

A wine that shows good champagne can work even with mediocre food.

...and I treated this bottle to my Performance champagne glasses

Tasting Notes

A powerful Blanc de Noirs with dark fruit, fine spice, and cool, chalky minerality. Confident and stylish without attitude.
