Piper-Heidsieck — Rosé Sauvage

Rosé Sauvage

Piper-Heidsieck | Rosé

Nachos, fries, jalapeños and a spicy cheese dip – comfort food in its purest form. All that's missing is the right champagne.

It has to be a rosé – the choice falls on the Piper-Heidsieck Rosé Sauvage. Good idea? Yes! Perfect idea? Well...

The combo of spicy cheese dip, hot jalapeños and salt might be a bit too intense. The rosé has enough to counter it, but against the full spicy-fat combination, a Rosé de Macération with even more structure might be the better choice.

About the champagne itself: Assemblage: 50–55% Pinot Noir (of which 20–25% red wine), 30–35% Meunier, 15–20% Chardonnay Production: Partially reserve wines (10–20%) Dosage: ~10 g/l (Brut) Taste: Intense red fruits, spicy notes, a hint of citrus and pink grapefruit Aroma: Currants, blood orange, wild strawberries, some pepper Style: Powerful, fruity yet fresh

Tasting Notes

Powerful and fruity rosé champagne with intense red fruits, spicy notes and a hint of citrus and pink grapefruit. Aromas of currants, blood orange, wild strawberries and some pepper shape the fresh character.
