Milieu Naturel: Blanc de Noirs

Derot Delugny | Blanc de Noirs

Sometimes opening the bottle is almost as exciting as drinking it.

Finally, my LA CLASSIQUE 1938 got its first use, the little French gadget that opens the bottle so elegantly you almost miss the pop.

It worked surprisingly well, and yes, it almost looked like I knew what I was doing.

What got opened was the Milieu Naturel, Blanc de Noirs.

A Cuvée that lives up exactly to what its name promises: natural, honest, grounded. 100% Pinot Meunier, spontaneously fermented, unfiltered, no fining, no Dosage.

In the glass it shows a delicate golden color, with a fine perlage and a nose that brings to mind ripe pear, apple, light brioche and fresh nuts. On the palate it's dry, taut and pure, but with that lovely, creamy texture that rounds the whole thing off nicely.

Tasting Notes

Delicate golden color with a fine perlage, aromas of ripe pear, apple, light brioche and fresh nuts. On the palate dry, taut and pure with a lovely creamy texture.
