Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut 2021

Domaine Alexandre Bonnet | Blanc de Noirs | Vintage 2021

The, Blanc de Noirs (Extra Brut) is 100% Pinot Noir from Les Riceys, but without the usual weight or dark opulence you often expect.

Instead, a very clear, tension-filled style that leans more toward structure and minerality than weight and power.

The origin from the Côte des Bar is clearly perceptible: chalk-driven soils, cool fruit, an almost saline texture. Ripe red berries, apple peel, some spice, everything precise, nothing sweet, nothing broad.

Extra Brut keeps the focus sharp. The wine remains straightforward with beautiful length.

A Blanc de Noirs that shows how elegant Pinot Noir can be, but also one where I think in hindsight that it would have performed even better with a fitting dish.

Tasting Notes

A clear, tension-filled Blanc de Noirs without the typical heaviness of Pinot Noir. Chalk-driven minerality, ripe red berries, apple peel and an almost saline texture, straightforward with beautiful length.
