Maison Raday

Maison Raday is the personal project of Valentin Tribaut, who left the family domaine Tribaut-Schloesser in 2018 to make his own champagnes. The name Raday refers to the river that flows through the family villages of Romery, Cormoyeux and Fleury-la-Rivière. Valentin deliberately works behind the scenes, without his own website or social media, and produces in tiny quantities, supplemented by purchased grapes from like-minded winemaker friends (including his cousin, biodynamic grower Aurélien Lurquin).

Style

The approach is consistently natural and biodynamic: spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, aging in Burgundy barrels, minimal sulfur and as little intervention as possible. The goal is pure, precise terroir expression, mostly as Brut Nature.

Winemaking

At Maison Raday, the focus is on uncompromisingly precise winemaking. The Cuvée Ramosa Ripa was aged 10 months in wooden barrels, followed by 36 months on the lees. The style is Brut Nature with 0 g/l dosage, allowing the terroir to come through unfiltered.

The Cuvées in Detail

Ramosa Ripa: Brut Nature 2019

Limited edition of 1,562 bottles, vinified from 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir each. Tirage in June 2019, disgorgement in June 2022 after three years on the lees. The champagne shows a direct, intense lime impression with fine salinity and chalky minerality, plus light brioche notes. Ten months in wooden barrels gave the wine structure without dominating it.
