Allouchery-Deguerne: Blanc de Noirs

Allouchery-Deguerne: Blanc de Noirs

The Cuvée

Allouchery-Deguerne is a Récoltant-Manipulant from Chamery, a Premier Cru village in the Montagne de Reims, whose vineyards lie right in the middle of the Champagne UNESCO World Heritage site. For several generations, the family has nurtured their heritage in Chamery and Écueil, working consistently sustainable practices and holding HVE certification. Aging takes place in stainless steel tanks, and the cuvées remain dry to classic with three to eight grams of dosage.

While the Blanc de Blancs shows the house's cool, precise side, this Blanc de Noirs represents its elegant depth. One hundred percent Pinot Noir brings ripe red fruits to the glass, crisp cherry and wild raspberry, underscored by a fine spice. On the palate it's powerful and structured, with beautiful grip yet plenty of freshness, a successful blend of tradition and modern clarity.

My Tastings

Behind every bottle lies not just craftsmanship, but the story of several generations who have nurtured their heritage in Chamery and Écueil.

Having already tried the "Sélection" and the "Blanc de Blancs," I was curious to see how the house interprets pure Pinot Noir power. You can feel in all the wines this deep respect for nature, the winery not only sits right in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage site, but is also consistently HVE-certified.

While the Blanc de Blancs covers more of the cool precision, this Blanc de Noirs now shows the house's elegant depth. Here ripe red fruits dominate immediately. I immediately thought of crisp cherries and wild raspberry, underscored by a fine spice. On the palate it then shows beautiful grip: powerful, structured and yet wonderfully fresh. It's this successful blend of tradition and modern clarity that makes Allouchery-Deguerne so exciting for me.
