Perpetuelle 13 Années 2008

Collard-Picard | Extra Brut | Vintage 2008

A zero-planning lunch: Hamshuka (spicy ground beef on hummus), with a fennel salad with orange dressing – and absolutely no thought about which champagne might pair with it.

Actually hadn't planned to open a bottle at all. But sometimes the champagne chooses itself – and the Collard-Picard Perpétuelle 13 Années 2008 was the spontaneous choice.

Tasting Notes

In the glass, initially calm and precise with bright fruit, a hint of herbs and mandarin. Plus a slightly oxidative, nutty wood character from the foudres – clean and not heavy, with lively acidity.
