Champagne Leclère-Pointillart is a vigneron maison from Écueil (Premier Cru) in the Montagne de Reims. Led by Guillaume Leclère in the 4th generation. The history begins with great-grandfather Jules, who first cultivated parcels on the slopes of Écueil.

History

The maison has its roots in the family of great-grandfather Jules, who started with some parcels on the coteaux of Écueil. Over four generations, the descendants built up the operation and perfected their mastery of the entire production chain, from vine to bottle.

Guillaume Leclère took over as the fourth generation and continues the work of his ancestors. The maison remains true to traditional vigneron craftsmanship: own vineyards, hand harvesting, controlled cultivation.

Vignoble & Soil

Leclère-Pointillart cultivates 9 hectares spread across seven villages, with the focus in Écueil. The grape variety distribution reflects the signature of Montagne de Reims: 80% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay and 5% Meunier.

The soils are argilo-calcaire, clay-limestone, and shape the powerful, structured character of the champagnes. Écueil itself is classified as Premier Cru.

Viticulture & Sustainability

The maison works according to the principle of viticulture raisonnée, controlled cultivation with conscious restraint in treatments. Insecticides are not used. The cultivation is guided by environmental consciousness and long-term soil fertility, without relying on external certifications.

The grapes are hand-picked, with the ripeness of each parcel assessed individually.

Vinification

The juice is developed in stainless steel cuves. The maison relies on perfect mastery of traditional methods, refined over four generations. The style is artisanal, the processes classic.

The dosage spectrum ranges from 0 g/l (Brut Nature) to classic Brut levels around 8-9 g/l. Reserve wines are used to ensure continuity and depth in the non-vintage cuvées.

Brut Tradition Premier Cru

The base cuvée is a pure 100% Pinot Noir, enriched with 30% reserve wines. Powerful, creamy, structured, a classically balanced Premier Cru without frills. 24 months of aging gives the cuvée depth without masking the fruit.

Brut Sélection Premier Cru

An assemblage of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, which spends 36 months on the lees. The cuvée aims for finesse and versatility, suitable from aperitif to meal.

Brut Rosé Premier Cru

Bright, powerful, fleshy, the rosé shares the assemblage with the Sélection (80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay), but focuses on red fruit aromas and a fresh, gourmand character. 24 months aging.

Brut Millésime Premier Cru

The vintage cuvée is only made in the best years and spends 72 months on the lees. Assemblage of equal parts Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Golden yellow, warm, structured, with slightly buttery-toasted notes, a cuvée for gastronomy.

Brut Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru

Pure 100% Chardonnay, which ages for 60 months. Lemon yellow, subtle citrus notes, great freshness, fine and elegant. Pairs with fish and seafood.

Brut Nature Premier Cru

Made without dosage, 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay, 60 months aging. Pale yellow, powerful and lively at the same time, the cuvée shows the pure terroir and vinification work, without sugar added at degorgement.

Brut Prestige Premier Cru

The prestige cuvée unites all three grape varieties in equal parts: 33% Pinot Noir, 33% Meunier, 33% Chardonnay. 60 months aging gives the cuvée roundness, freshness and maturity at once. Bright yellow, surprisingly fine perlage, for special moments.
