Champagne Royal Riviera

Champagne Royal Riviera

Champagne Royal Riviera is a Négoce-Manipulant based in Monaco (Cap d'Ail, Côte d'Azur), produced in Épernay. Founded in 2019 by Sara (from Burgundy) and Hernando Ramirez (from Colombia), who met in Miami and settled in Monaco. The brand originally started as an official license from the Prince's Palace of Monaco. Kiron Barui, an Australian champagne expert, joined the team in 2020 and forms "The Champagne Sisters" with Sara.

History

Sara and Hernando Ramirez founded Champagne Royal Riviera in 2019 in Monaco — initially as an official license from the Prince's Palace. The vision: translating Monte-Carlo lifestyle into champagne, with a turquoise label as a symbol of the Côte d'Azur. In the same year, the Brut Suprême cuvée received a gold medal in the "First Date" category at the Glass of Bubbly Awards.

In 2020, the team expanded to include Kiron Barui from Australia, a champagne expert with years of experience. She and Sara formed "The Champagne Sisters" as the creative duo behind the cuvées. In 2025, the house announced new lines: Brut Rosé Princier as well as two Elegantly-Aged variants in Brut and Rosé — details are still pending.

Vignoble & Terroir

Royal Riviera doesn't operate its own vineyards. The grapes come from Reims, the Côte de Blanc and the Vallée de la Marne — classified as 66% Grand Cru and 33% Premier Cru. Production takes place in Épernay, presumably in partnership with a local Maître de Chais. Specific parcels, grower partners, and hectare figures are not publicly communicated.

Winemaking

Royal Riviera works according to the méthode champenoise with at least 36 months of lees aging. The Brut Suprême cuvée consists of 100% reserve wines, non-vintage. The dosage is 9 g/l. Details about malolactic fermentation, stainless steel or barrel aging, as well as réserve perpétuelle are not published. The approach is less terroir-driven, more focused on lifestyle and approachable fruit — turquoise label included.
