Champagne Jeaunaux-Robin

Champagne Jeaunaux-Robin is a grower house from Talus-Saint-Prix, a small village in the Petit-Morin valley on the Côte de Sézanne, far from the big, well-known champagne addresses. That remoteness is part of the appeal: here, champagne gets to taste like its place, not like a house style.

Terroir and Style

The soils in the Petit-Morin valley are shaped by Argiles à silex, clay-heavy sites with flint inclusions that give the wines structure and a cool, spicy edge. The house works close to nature: spontaneous fermentation with its own yeasts, aging in oak barrels, no malolactic fermentation. The result is wines with tension and precision rather than upfront fruit.

One theme runs through everything: respect for old vines and small volumes. Some cuvées are made in quantities well under 2,000 bottles.

The Cuvées in Detail

Instinct Meunier

A pure varietal Meunier that shows what this often underrated grape can do when given room to shine. The grapes come from the Le Grand Morceau parcel, whose vines average 61 years old and are rooted in flint-clay soils. Aged in barrel, fermented spontaneously, no malo, no dosage. Vintage 2020, disgorged in 2021, only around 1,700 bottles. Concentrated and spicy, with the depth that only old vines can deliver.

100% Pinot Meunier · Brut Nature (0 g/l) · Fût de chêne · Le Grand Morceau, Talus-Saint-Prix · Vines around 61 years old
