Champagne Oudiette

Champagne Oudiette is run by Maxime Oudiette in Beaunay on the Côte de Sézanne. The maison works with a plot cuvée philosophy: wines that clearly express their parcel identity.

Vinification

Maxime Oudiette works with minimal intervention. For the Rosé d'Infusion, whole Meunier berries are hand-destemmed and individually placed into fermenting Chardonnay must, infusion instead of press pressure. Aging takes place in 228-liter barrels for ten months. Dosage: Brut Nature, zero grams.

The Cuvées in Detail

Rosé d'Infusion

The base is 2020, the cépage weight is 98% Chardonnay. The two percent Meunier doesn't come from the press: Maxime Oudiette places individual whole berries into the fermenting must, where they give color, spice, and texture. The wine aged ten months in 228-liter barrels, was dégorgé in September 2023. Production: 654 bottles. Copper tone, barely any upfront fruit, but texture, spice, clean line, cool tension.

98% Chardonnay, 2% Meunier · Brut Nature (0 g/l) · 10 months aging · Beaunay, Côte de Sézanne

Recommended by @fab___g from @glouglougraz. Copper tone, barely any upfront fruit. Texture, spice, clean line, cool tension, fine structure. A rosé that doesn't rely on charm, but on precision.
