Charles Heidsieck
Charles Heidsieck is a Négociant maison from Reims, founded in 1851 by Charles Heidsieck. Today under the leadership of Cyril Brun. The maison is B Corp certified and defines itself through the texture and complexity of its champagnes.
The headquarters is located on Rue de la Procession in Reims, in the heart of Montagne de Reims. The chalk cellars of Reims are a central component of vinification: The champagnes age here for at least five years before being disgorged.
Vinification
Charles Heidsieck works with a high proportion of reserve wines. In the Brut Réserve, 50 percent of the assemblage comes from reserve wines that are on average ten years old. The result is pronounced depth, a creamy texture, and clear fruit maturity – from brioche to toasted nuts to peach and praline.
The long aging times in the cool chalk cellars are part of the program: at least five years for the Brut Réserve, at least four to five years for the Blanc de Blancs.
The Cuvées in Detail
Brut Réserve
The house's base cuvée is an assemblage of 40 percent Pinot Noir, 40 percent Chardonnay, and 20 percent Meunier. 50 percent of the cuvée consists of reserve wines with an average of ten years of aging. The grapes come from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards. Aromatically, the champagne shows brioche, toasted nuts, peach, dried fruits, and praline. Creamy, round, complex – with clear freshness in the finish.

Blanc de Blancs
Pure Chardonnay from Premier Cru vineyards in Aube, Côte des Bar. At least four to five years aging on lees. Aromatics: citrus, white flowers, floral honey, light brioche notes. Fine perlage, creamy texture. Fresh, precise, with depth.
