Champagne Franck Bonville

Champagne Franck Bonville

Champagne Franck Bonville is a Récoltant-Manipulant from Avize in the Côte des Blancs. The house is now run by Olivier Bonville and Ferdinand Ruelle-Dudel. The headquarters is located at 9 Rue Pasteur, right in the heart of the Grand Cru village.

Vignoble & Soil

Franck Bonville farms vines in Avize, Oger and Cramant — all Grand Cru sites in the Côte des Blancs. The assemblage of the Brut Grand Cru cuvée draws exclusively from these three villages. The grape variety is Chardonnay, consistently Blanc de Blancs.

Viticulture & Sustainability

The house's motto appears under the foil of every bottle: "Au rythme de la nature" — in rhythm with nature. Specific certifications or detailed farming practices aren't currently documented, but the approach focuses on natural rhythms in the vineyard.

Winemaking

Fermentation takes place in stainless steel. Malolactic fermentation is carried out completely. The style is straightforward, clear and mineral — characteristic of the Côte des Blancs. The dosage ranges from 5–6 g/l, with the Brut Grand Cru cuvée at 5.8 g/l.

The Cuvées in Detail

Brut Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs

The assemblage consists of 40% from 2022, 40% from 2020 and 20% from 2018. A straightforward Blanc de Blancs with peach, grapefruit and light floral notes that leads to a salty, clean finish. Disgorged in September 2024, 12.5% ABV.

100% Chardonnay · 5.8 g/l · Terroir: Avize, Oger, Cramant (Grand Cru)
