Richard Royer

Richard Royer is a Récoltant-Manipulant from Sainte-Anne in the Côte des Bar (Aube). The Maison focuses on Pinot Noir, aged in oak foudre, hand-harvested and certified under Terra Vitis.

Vignoble & Terroir

The vines are located in Sainte-Anne, a village in the Côte des Bar. The grape variety focus — at least for the Cuvée Originel — is entirely on Pinot Noir.

Viticulture & Sustainability

Richard Royer is Terra Vitis certified and harvests by hand. The certification represents controlled sustainable farming and regular audits of viticultural practices.

Vinification

Aging takes place in oak foudre — large wooden vessels that allow the wine to breathe without dominating it with oak flavors. Dosage is in the Extra Brut range (0–6 g/l), with lees aging lasting at least three years. The philosophy: bringing Pinot Noir from the Côte des Bar to maturity with time and wood.

The Cuvées in Detail

Originel — Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut

White fruit flesh, citrus and an earthy foundation typical of Pinot Noir from the Côte des Bar. Aging in oak foudre gives the wine structure and air, with lees aging lasting about three years. Hand-harvested, Terra Vitis certified.

100% Pinot Noir · 4.5 g/l · 36 Months · Côte des Bar, Sainte-Anne
