Domaine A. Limar

Domaine A. Limar

Domaine A. Limar is a Récoltant-Manipulant from La Neuville-aux-Larris in the Vallée de la Marne. Led by Alexis Limar and Jeanne Limar, who vinify their champagnes with a clear approach: precise, lean, minimal interventionist.

Vignoble & Soil

The vines are located in La Neuville-aux-Larris, with a clear focus on Pinot Meunier. The parcel for Nos Terres Amoureuses, for example, is south-facing and was planted in 1983 — typical for the Marne Valley sites that provide optimal conditions for Meunier.

Viticulture & Sustainability

Alexis and Jeanne work without fining, without filtration, and with minimal sulfur use. The approach is clear: intervene as little as possible, give the wine space to define itself.

Vinification

Vinification takes place in stainless steel with spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts. Extended lees aging — at least 36 months — gives the wines time to develop structure and depth. The dosage remains low, often eliminated entirely: Brut Nature is not an exception here, but the program.

The Cuvées in Detail

Bright, precise notes of pear and mirabelle plum, white flowers, orange zest and almond. On the palate dry and clear with chalky texture, saline character and mineral backbone. Spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel, unfined, unfiltered. Dégorgement January 2025.
