Champagne Dosnon
Champagne Dosnon is located in the Côte des Bar village of Avirey-Lingey, just half an hour north of Chablis. It is the work of Davy Dosnon, who grew up in the region, studied oenology and worked at renowned Burgundy houses before reuniting his family's vineyards and bottling his own Champagnes starting with the 2007 vintage.
Vineyard & Style
Dosnon farms around 7.5 hectares (about two owned, the rest leased), organically. The soil of the Côte des Bar is reminiscent of Chablis: clay over Kimméridgien and Portlandien limestone. Pressing is done in an old basket press, with aging entirely in used Puligny-Montrachet barrels. Aging never lasts less than 20 months and can stretch over years, with bottling only when the desired balance of freshness and richness is achieved.
The Cuvées
The range is deliberately small and Burgundian in character, with Blanc de Noirs and Blanc de Blancs as well as a Rosé, each with powerful, expressive character.
