Champagne Domaine La Borderie

Domaine La Borderie

Domaine La Borderie – also known on Instagram and their website as Champagne Domaine La Borderie – is a family domaine from the Côte des Bar. Run by the Famille Frazier, the house works according to the principles of Agroécologie and viticulture respectueuse du vivant.

Vignoble & Soils

The vines are located in Neuville-sur-Seine, among other places, where the single vineyard De Quoi Te Mêles-Tu? has been planted since 1980. The focus is on Pinot Noir, complemented by Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc.

Viticulture & Sustainability

The domaine works according to the principles of Agroécologie and viticulture respectueuse du vivant – a farming approach that focuses on the living balance in the vineyard.

Vinification

Part of the wines age in oak barrels: 10 percent for the cuvée Trois Contrées, and partial barrel aging for De Quoi Te Mêles-Tu. The dosage ranges between 0 and 3 g/l – from Extra Brut to Brut Nature.

The Cuvées in Detail

Trois Contrées – Extra Brut

The base cuvée with 70% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Blanc. The base 2021 is complemented by 15% reserve wines, 10% of the cuvée ages in oak. Disgorged in July 2024, it shows itself to be accessible, profound and precise – typically Côte des Bar.

70% Pinot Noir · 20% Chardonnay · 10% Pinot Blanc · 3 g/l Extra Brut · Base 2021 + 15% Réserve

De Quoi Te Mêles-Tu – Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature

100% Pinot Noir from the single vineyard of the same name in Neuville-sur-Seine, planted in 1980. Partial oak aging, 30 months on lees, zero dosage. Clean freshness with aromas of apple, cherry and almonds, creamy bubbles and precise structure.
