Champagne CL de La Chapelle is a Récoltant-Manipulant from Ville-Dommange in the Montagne de Reims. The maison was founded in 1948 and is now run by the 5th generation of growers. Their parcels are located in Premier Cru vineyards.

History

In 1948, the family produced their first bottles under the name CL de La Chapelle. Since then, the maison has been rooted in Ville-Dommange and has continued the winemaking tradition through now five generations.

The Cuvées in Detail

The maison offers a broad range, from Extra Brut to Demi-sec. The cuvées bear names like Audace, Éclat, Empreinte, Instinct, or Nuance. Besides classic champagnes, CL de La Chapelle also offers a Ratafia Champenois, a traditional aperitif made from unfermented must and brandy.

Audace Brut

The entry-level cuvée shows ripe yellow fruits like mirabelle plums, along with caramel and a delicate spiciness. On the palate it's fruity and round, with gentle bubbles and nice length. The dosage information varies by source between 1.1 g/l (Extra Brut) and 8 g/l (Brut) – this still needs clarification.
